The madness continues with another HUGE haul!
Lord of the Rings: Third Age (Xbox)
Last week I got the game for the PS2 but that disc was damaged so it didn’t work. So I went on eBay and found myself a copy of the game for the original Xbox. The game is complete and in very good condition and most importantly; it works.
Call of Duty WWII Limited Edition Crate, Call of Duty WWII Guide and Call of Duty WWII (PS4)
Yes, I’m a fan of the latest title in the Call of Duty franchise. The single player is awesome and the multiplayer, even with the current flaws, is still fun to play. I already did an unboxing for the limited edition crate; you can find the video a bit further down on my blog. And then finally I bought the guide. I’m a sucker for physical guides and this one is really high quality (hardcover for the win!). I mostly use it for zombies but it still fun to read when I have a couple of minutes to spare.
Need for Speed Payback (PS4)
I can be pretty brief on this one; I haven’t played it yet and the reviews don’t seem all that amazing. I got it because the trailers looked promising and I wanted an ‘easy’ racing game to play when I’m not playing FIFA/Call of Duty. I’ll let you guys know what I think of it when I find some time to play it.
Assassins Creed 3: Join or Die Edition (PS3)
It was cheap and it’s complete; so why not? I’ve played a fair bit of this game but I never managed to complete it. I might give it another go when I find some time for it (which won’t be in the next few weeks).

You know that special feeling when you buy a new console? Well, I experienced that this week!
Xbox One S 1 TB + Forza Horizon 3 + Quantum Break + Halo Wars 2 + Gears of War Ultimate Edition + Halo The Master Chief Collection
I wanted a Xbox One for a long time but I never really found one for a decent price. But that changed when I found a Xbox One S 1TB + Forza Horizon 3 + Quantum Break pack for €288. That pack was especially good because I’m only going to use my Xbox One to play exclusive games (console exclusives also count). I then went out and bought Halo Wars 2 (€19,99 new), Gears of War Ultimate Edition (€9, new) and the Halo Master Chief Collection (€24,99 used). A lot of gaming for a relatively small price. And yes, I know that the Xbox One X is coming out in the very near future but I just couldn’t pass up this deal.

This week we get a visit from both Lego Batman and the Punisher!
Lego Batman: Joker Balloon Escape
I haven’t seen the Lego Batman movie (yet) but this Lego set was just too cool to not pick up. I might pick up more of the Lego Batman sets in the near future because they are freaking awesome!
The Punisher (Xbox)
The Punisher is an underrated action game based on The Punisher comics and the 2004 Punisher movie (very loosely based). The game is very violent (mostly because of the executions) and the story is pretty cool. It has a lot of resemblance with how we saw the Punisher in Daredevil; gritty and no-nonsense.
What’s your favorite superhero game of all time? Mine’s probably Arkham City but I also really enjoyed Spider-Man 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 2.
Weekly pickups are back and this week it’s all gaming related! Let’s dive straight into it!
FIFA Street and FIFA Street 2 (Xbox)
I was a huge fan of the FIFA street series when it first came out and I played these two games a lot. They were easy to pick up and play but hard to completely master. When I found these two on eBay for a very decent price (€13 including shipping for both) I didn’t hesitate to pick them up. So now the quest begins to dominate the courts with some sick tricks and over the top goals!
What gaming series do you want to see make a comeback ? Let me know in the comments!
Last week I bought two consoles and this week I added a handheld to my collection.
I had an original Gameboy laying around but the screen didn’t work properly so I had no way of playing my Gameboy games. At first I looked at old Gameboys for a replacement but those prices have skyrocketed over the last few months. After a while I found a boxed GBA which was just perfect! It was complete and in good condition and it wasn’t expensive (€25 including shipping).
Soul Calibur 2 (Xbox)
This purchase is definitely a mixed bag. I love Soul Calibur 2 and it’s a great game for my collection but I wasn’t so happy about the condition of the game. It didn’t include a manual (the description was super vague; ‘sometimes’ you get a manual depending on the stock) and the case is an Xbox 360 case and not an original Xbox one. The price was fair but I still expected a bit more but the game works and that’s the most important thing for now. I’ll probably buy a complete copy in the future.
Ryse: Son of Rome (PC)
Picked this up for €4.99 on Humble Bundle and I love it! The graphics are great, the fighting mechanics are smooth and the story is pretty interesting.

This week it’s all about consoles! I bought two new (well old really) consoles for my collection and I also bought some PS4 games on PSN.
Sega Dreamcast + VMU + Hydro Thunder
I owned a Dreamcast before (many many years ago) but I sold it because I wanted a new bike. About a week ago I saw a lot of posts celebrating the 17th anniversary of the release of the DC in North America and I decided it was time to get myself another Dreamcast. The set that I got includes everything you need to get started; the console, the controller, a vmu and a game. I chose Hydro Thunder for two reasons; the first is that it’s a fun game and the second one is that it was pretty cheap.
Microsoft Xbox Sega GT 2002/Jet Set Radio Future set
My original Xbox broke and I needed a replacement. I found this one for a decent price and it’s in great condition. The box is a bit damaged but the set came with an extra controller which is always nice. Now I can continue to dominate the court in NBA Street 2!
Killzone Shadow Fall and Air Conflicts Pacific Carriers (PS4)
Killzone was one of my favourite PS2 games but I didn’t really pay attention to any of the sequels because I switched to an Xbox 360 (I didn’t have the money to buy a 360 and a PS3). Now I go back to the series with Shadow Fall. I’ve read some good things about the game online so I don’t think that €9 is a bad price. Air Conflicts Pacific Carriers is one of my guilty pleasures. I love flying games but only the more arcade style games (Dogfight 1942, Blazing Angels, …) so this is right up my alley.
What console did you own in the early 2000’s? A Playstation 2? An Xbox? Let me know in the comments!
First thoughts: YESSSSSS! I loved the first Injustice game (I still play it from time to time) so I’m definitely going to buy this one it its release. They don’t need to change much but I really hope that use the graphics engine from Mortal Kombat X because that would look amazing. From the trailer it seems that every character has a number of new ‘skins’ (see the quote below for more info on that) and that we get to play as Supergirl! I’m pretty excited for this game but how do you guys feel about it? Let me know in the comments!
Playstation blog said this about the ‘skins’:
The Gear System uses RPG-like mechanics to reward you with loot drops every time you play the game. With each loot drop, you will earn character-specific gear to outfit and power up your roster – changing not only the look of each character, but your fight strategy and your personal approach to every match. As you gear up your characters, you’re building a roster of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains that reflects your choices, and your preferences, which can be vastly different than your opponents. A few play sessions in, you can expect your Aquaman to look and play different than anyone else’s Aquaman you may come across.
They’ve also released the first gameplay trailer and it looks pretty good:
