Weekly pick-ups: Week 137!

Christmas is coming and my pick ups are slowing down because of that; I need the money to buy presents! But I did manage to grab two games that I loved as a teenager!

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Xbox 360)

I’m normally against picking up games in a budget series (platinum, classics, etc) but I was willing to make an exception for this classic. I loved this game growing up and now I can play it on my Xbox One (Microsoft is the king of backwards compatibility). I can already hear the country music playing on K-Rose!

Scarface The World is Yours (Xbox)

I remember when I first saw this game in my local gameshop; I loved the movie and the game was on sale so I decided to pick it up. I even remember buying the official guide for it a couple of days later because I liked it so much. The game follows an alternative ending to the movie: Tony Montana doesn’t die at the end and he manages to escape but he has lost everything. So now it’s up to you to rebuild his empire. People said that it ruined the movie and I can see why but that didn’t stop me from 100% completing this game when I was 15. I now plan on completing it once again but this time without the official guide… For now.

What’s a game that you completed for 100% when you were a teenager? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly pick-ups: Week 132!

The wait is over: Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally here! I also picked up a classic collection for the PS3 and an awesome collectors box for a zombie game.

State of Decay 2 Collectors Edition (Xbox One)

Found this on sale for €50 instead of €100; a pretty good deal. It comes with the Ultimate Edition of the game and a bunch of extra’s (picture at the bottom of this post will display it all).

The Orange Box (PS3)

Half-Life 2 is one of my favorite games of all time and I complete it at least once every year on PC. But I wanted the Orange Box for the PS3 so I got an used copy for €15. It’s in pretty rough shape but the disc is in perfect condition!

Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4)

The long awaited sequel to Red Dead Redemption is finally here! Played it a bit and so far I like it!

Have you bought Red Dead Redemption 2? If yes, what do you think about it? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly pick-ups: Week 130!

Another pretty solid week for me; got some new action figures, added some games to both my PS2 and Xbox collection and so much more! Let’s jump right into it!

Black Panther and Captain America action figure

My mom found these for €2 each; pretty awesome! I didn’t have a Black Panther or Captain America figurine so they fit in nicely with the rest of my Marvel collection.

Maximo vs the Army of Zin Strategy Guide

My love for the Maximo games has been on full display the last couple of weeks and this week I got the official guide for the second game. I bought this guide from the same guy who sold me the guide for the first game and it’s in the same, excellent, condition! It took a couple of weeks to arrived and I even thought that it wouldn’t arrive at all (the tracking code didn’t update for weeks) but in the end it was all good!

Need for Speed Underground 2 and GTA 3 (PS2)

Another find by my mom this time in a goodwill store! Games were €1.5 each and they are both complete! Well except that GTA III has the GTA Vice City disc but that isn’t that big of a deal. Just nice to have a copy that has the poster because that was missing from my Xbox version.

Call of Duty Black Ops IIII (PS4)

H1Z1 has made me love battle royale games so I just had to grab this one to play the Blackout game mode. So far it’s a ton of fun but I haven’t gotten a win yet!

Batman Dark Tomorrow and Medal of Honor European Assault (Xbox)

Got these on Gameforce for €6 and €4 respectively. I didn’t know anything about the Batman game and that’s why I picked it up; I looked up some reviews and apparently it’s pretty bad but I’ll give it a god. Medal of Honor European Assault had been on my wish list for a while so I’m happy that I can finally cross it off!

Payday 2 Dallas Mask

A friend and I had been talking about getting a mask like this for a while but we never found one that we liked (price and quality wise). So when we saw these on Gameforce we just had to buy them! I picked the Dallas mask because it’s my favorite design.

What’s a game that’s on your wish list that you really want? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly pick-ups: Week 129!

Two comics and two games: perfectly balanced as all things should be!

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight and Wolfenstein: The Deep!

I’ve seen the animated version of Gotham by Gaslight and I very much enjoyed it so I decided to buy the comic it was based on. I don’t know anything about the Wolfenstein comic but I love Wolfenstein so I thought: why not?

Forza Horizon 4 (Xbox One)

I prefer the Horizon games over the normal Motorsport games because they are more fun and this entry is the best one yet! Everything just works a lot better (and quicker) than in Forza Horizon 3.

Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War III (PC)

The game has a co-op mode and it was just €5 so yeah; I’ll ignore the bad reviews for that.

What’s your favorite Forza game? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly pick-ups: Week 127!

The last couple of weeks were pretty crazy: I got a new PS4, bought a bunch of figures and games; complete madness. The madness is over and we’re back with a more normal week. Couple of games and a figurine: not too bad.

Valkyria Revolution (Xbox One)

Found it in the budget bin for €5 and decided to grab it. I then realized it was the ‘bad’ Valkyria game but ey: I’ll give it a shot!

Forza Motorsport (Xbox)

Bit of a surprise that I didn’t own this one. I love the Forza series (both the motorsport and Horizon) and this one started it all. It’s still a great game today and I picked it up for €3.5 from a thrift store!

Maximo Captain Cadaver Figurine

The set is almost complete! Found this one on eBay (in Italy) for around €10 including shipping: pretty good deal. Now I only need ‘Bokor La Bas’ but I haven’t managed to track that one down.

What’s your favorite racing game? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly pick-ups: Week 121!

I set a challenge for myself: I could only buy a new game when I finished one that has been setting in my backlog for a while. A couple of days ago I finished “South Park: The Fractured But Whole” (great game, check it out if you haven’t) so that meant that I could buy a new game! So guess what I did?

Lock’s Quest (Xbox One)

I don’t know a single thing about this game but the description on the back looked interesting and it was only €5 so why not?

Slain (PS4)

Yes, I know. I finished one game but I bought two of them; that wasn’t really the plan but I couldn’t pass this one up. It reminded me a lot of Castlevania Symphony Of The Night and that’s one of my favorite PS1 games so I decided to go for it. It’s tough but I like a good challenge!

Do you struggle with an enormous backlog of unfinished games? How do you fix that? Let me know in the comments!
