Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 96!

I’m back! I took a couple of weeks of but now I’m back with a bang!

Nintendo 3DS XL Super Nintendo Edition

I wanted a 3DS for a long time but I didn’t really like the colors/special editions. That all changed when I saw this beauty! It looks amazing and I’ve spent a good chunk of my free time playing New Super Mario Bros 2. Which brings me to …

New Super Mario Bros 2, Kirby Triple Deluxe and Zelda Ocarina of Time (3DS)

You need some good games to play on your new console and I got these 3. All Nintendo games and all of them received good reviews (or at least decent reviews). I’ve almost finished New Super Mario Bros 2 and then I’m probably going to play some Zelda.

Kirby Amiibo

There isn’t really a particular reason that I got this. I saw it in the shop, liked the look of it and just got it. Fits in nicely with my Shovel Knight Amiibo.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (PS3)

Yes, I know that you can play the PS2 version on the PS4 but it’s nice to get a physical copy of the game for my PS3. I’ll probably play it a ton around Christmas.

LA Noire and Bioshock Collection (PS4)

LA Noire was (and still is) a brilliant game. Finding clues, figuring out if someone is lying or not; it’s all done so very well. There are still some bugs in the game but that doesn’t really ruin to fun! The original Bioshock is one of my favorite games ever and I wanted to play it again so I got the entire collection. Bioshock 2 is more action packed but still good and Bioshock Ininite is also a great game.

What’s your favorite version of the 3DS? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 95!

The madness continues with another HUGE haul!

Lord of the Rings: Third Age (Xbox)

Last week I got the game for the PS2 but that disc was damaged so it didn’t work. So I went on eBay and found myself a copy of the game for the original Xbox. The game is complete and in very good condition and most importantly; it works.

Call of Duty WWII Limited Edition Crate, Call of Duty WWII Guide and Call of Duty WWII (PS4)

Yes, I’m a fan of the latest title in the Call of Duty franchise. The single player is awesome and the multiplayer, even with the current flaws, is still fun to play. I already did an unboxing for the limited edition crate; you can find the video a bit further down on my blog. And then finally I bought the guide. I’m a sucker for physical  guides and this one is really high quality (hardcover for the win!). I mostly use it for zombies but it still fun to read when I have a couple of minutes to spare.

Need for Speed Payback (PS4)

I can be pretty brief on this one; I haven’t played it yet and the reviews don’t seem all that amazing. I got it because the trailers looked promising and I wanted an ‘easy’ racing game to play when I’m not playing FIFA/Call of Duty. I’ll let you guys know what I think of it when I find some time to play it.

Assassins Creed 3: Join or Die Edition (PS3)

It was cheap and it’s complete; so why not? I’ve played a fair bit of this game but I never managed to complete it. I might give it another go when I find some time for it (which won’t be in the next few weeks).

What’s your favorite Call of Duty game? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 92!

This week it’s all about South Park!

South Park The Fractured But Whole Collector’s Edition (PS4)

I was a big fan of the Stick of Truth so I didn’t think twice about picking this up. The game is really fun (it has a bit of a slow start but after that it’s great) and the extra’s in the collector’s edition are great. The the Coon figurine is well made and nicely detailed (Ubisoft has a thing for making good figurines/statues) and the post cards are a cool little extra. It also comes with a PS4 download code for the Stick of Truth; great for the people who missed the first game!

What games are you excited for this month? Assassins Creed Origins? Super Mario Odyssey? Wolfenstein II ? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 90 !

This week I added another PS2 classic to my library and FIFA makes a return!

South Park The Fractured But Whole 6 inch Mysterion figurine

The game hasn’t even been released yet but I’m hyped! Stick of Truth was a ton of fun and I expect that this one will be even better. I already got ‘The Coon’ as an RC toy (I forgot to show that in previous posts) and now I added this Mysterion figurine. It’s nicely detailed and painted but the overal finish could have been nicer.

FIFA 18 (PS4)

I had my doubts about buying FIFA this year but in the end I decided to get it anyway. I’m still pretty bad at the game (I can’t defend to save my life) but I’m having fun with it and that’s what counts !

Medal of Honor Frontline (PS2)

One of my favorite PS2 games of all time and the game that got me hooked on first person shooters. I can’t wait to storm the beaches of Normandy once again !

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 89!

This week I added a bunch of games to my ever growing Playstation collection!

Dynasty Warriors 4 and Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires (PS2)

I’m on a quest to complete my Dynasty Warriors collection and these two fit right in. I’m a big fan of the series because these games are really easy to pick up and play.

NBA 2K12 and NBA Street Homecourt (PS3)

I know what you’re thinking; why would anybody buy old sport games? Well because I’m a basketball fan and I love playing the older basketball games (it’s fun to go back and look at the ratings of certain players). It also helps that these games are never really that expensive so they are very easy to collect.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite and NBA 2K18 (PS4)

NBA 2K18 is a bit of a disappointment for me; the game itself is great and fun to play but I hate how everything is now (even more so than previous iterations) based around VC. You get so little VC for playing that you’re forced to buy them to actually progress in the game. That’s a real shame because I never really spent money on a NBA 2K game before (mostly because I only play MyPlayer). Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is a fun fighting game but it’s nothing special. The overall presentation isn’t great and it’s a real shame that there aren’t any X-Men characters on the roster. It’s still fun to play but there are better fighting games available at the time (Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 for example).

What’s a weird game franchise that you like to collect? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 88!

I only got one game this week because the next couple of weeks will be very expensive for me (I pre-ordered so many games!). Let’s see what that mystery game is!

Destiny 2 (PS4)

I only played the beta of Destiny and after that I never really bothered with it. The release of the second game didn’t really change my feelings towards the game until I started playing it. I really enjoy the combat and the way the game looks and feels. Diehard fans might be a bit disappointed with this game but as far as I’m concerned it’s a great!

Which games are you guys going to be in the next couple of weeks/months ? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 86!

This week I got a couple of new games for my PS2, PS4 and Xbox One and I also got my first Amiibo !

Shovel Knight Amiibo

I’m a big fan of Shovel Knight and I wanted a collectible for my figurine collection so I got the Amiibo (because that’s basically the only option right now). It looks really good and it will get a special place on my figurine shelf.

Sunset Overdrive Day One Edition (Xbox One)

My quest for a complete set of Xbox One exclusive games continues with the addition of Sunset Overdrive. The game is pretty unique and so far I’m really enjoying it.

Downhill Domination (PS2)

I remember playing this game on a demo disc that came with the official PS2 magazine back in the day and I loved it. So I was really excited when I found the complete version for a very good price. The game is complete and in very good condition which is always a big plus!

Deus EX Mankind Divided Steelcase

I didn’t buy this; I got it for free at my job. Nice little collectible to have!

Yakuza Kiwami Steelbook Edition (PS4)

I’ve never played a Yakuza game but I figured that this was a good place to start. It comes in a really cool steelcase which is something I as a collector really appreciate. I haven’t had the time to play it but I look forward to it!

What’s a game that you used to play on a demo disc but you never actually purchased? Let me know in the comments!

Disclaimer; Weekly pick ups has been moved to Sunday because of my job!
