This week it’s all about South Park!
South Park The Fractured But Whole Collector’s Edition (PS4)
I was a big fan of the Stick of Truth so I didn’t think twice about picking this up. The game is really fun (it has a bit of a slow start but after that it’s great) and the extra’s in the collector’s edition are great. The the Coon figurine is well made and nicely detailed (Ubisoft has a thing for making good figurines/statues) and the post cards are a cool little extra. It also comes with a PS4 download code for the Stick of Truth; great for the people who missed the first game!
What games are you excited for this month? Assassins Creed Origins? Super Mario Odyssey? Wolfenstein II ? Let me know in the comments!
A ton of new games have been announced/shown on E3 and I’m going to list my personal favorites. Let’s do this!
1.God Of War : Be A Warrior
We got some gameplay footage of the new God of War game and it looks amazing! I’m already looking forward to kill that giant snake thing we see at the end of the trailer.
An exclusive Spider-Man game for the PS4 will always interest me especially one that looks as good as this one. The combat reminds me a lot of the Batman Arkham games and that’s a good thing; I really love the timing based combat. A good Spider-Man off course has good web slinging and this game seems to deliver on that front; the web slinging looks fun and solid. The worst part of this game is its release date: 2018. Bummer!
3. Call of Duty WII Multiplayer trailer!
I haven’t been excited for a new COD game since Black Ops but this one put me right back on the hype train. I’m skeptical that the multiplayer will look this good and fluid but we shall see. The trailer didn’t show any exuberant skins on the weapons and I hope that this is also the case for the final game. I don’t want to play a World War 2 shooter with a pink MP40.
4. Skull and Bones
My favorite Assassins Creed game is Black Flag so you can see why I’m excited for this game. I’d love a good online pirate game but it is still Ubisoft so I’m skeptical; how are the servers going to be ? What about the balance ? I’m going to try to get access to the beta to see how the game plays but the trailer does look good.
5. A Way Out
2 brothers breaking out of jail might not sound like the most interesting premise ever but what is interesting is the fact that it is co-op. I love a good co-op game and this might be a very good one!
- Wolfenstein II The New Colossus
- Marvel vs Capcom Infinite (the gameplay looks great!)
- Xbox One X
- Need for Speed Payback
- Metro Exodus

Weekly pick-ups is back and it returns with a bang! I bought 2 seasons of a DC tv show and a PS4 game.
Gotham Season 1 + 2 (blu-ray)
Season 1 of Gotham wasn’t the best; it had some strong moments but overall it felt pretty ‘meh’. But Jiminy jillikers Batman did they go all out with season 2. Everything was just bigger and better and that trend continued in season 3.
Far Cry 4 (PS4)
Far Cry 4 should have been called Far Cry 3.5 and didn’t really deserve a full €60 price tag on release. The fourth installment didn’t add a lot so that’s why I didn’t pick it up when it was released. I recently saw it for €17 as part of the Ubisoft deals and I decided that this was the right time for me to pick it up.
What’s your favorite DC tv show? Mine’s still Arrow (Season 5 has been really good) but Gotham is close on its tail!
This week wasn’t a big week for pickups; I just bought one PSN game. The following weeks might be a lot better (if some things come back in stock) so be prepared for that!
Trials of the Blood Dragon (PS4)
I’m a big fan of the Trials series so when I saw this on sale for €7 I just bought it. The level design is great but I’m not a huge fan of the changes they made in this game. I like the grappling hook but I really hate the levels on foot. They feel out of place and aren’t as good as the ones with a vehicle. But overall it’s still a fun game with some gorgeous levels and for this price it’s a must buy for any Trials fan.
What’s your favorite Ubisoft game? Let me know in the comments!
I’m already feeling the Holiday spirit because I received 2 awesome gifts from a friend. I also got something to put on my ears and something to put on my shelf. Let’s see what I got!
Watch Dogs 2 (PC)
I’ve never played the first Watch Dogs and to be honest; I wasn’t going to buy this one. The game looked interesting but not interesting enough for me to pay full price. Turned out I didn’t have to pay anything to own the game thanks to an awesome friend! He bought a new graphics card and got the game with it but he already bought it so he gifted it to me! Thanks man! I’ve played Watch Dogs 2 for a couple of hours now and I really enjoy it. There’s a lot to do in the city, the hacking is fun and the multiplayer is really nice. The only thing that I don’t really like is how the cars handle but that’s not too bad in the grand scheme of things.
I wanted a wireless headset but I couldn’t find one for a decent price so I opted to go with this one because I can use it on my PC and PS4. It was on sale (€64.90 instead of €72.99) which made it a pretty good deal.
Another gift (from the same guy, I’m starting to think that he really is Santa Claus!) that I got recently for a game that I wanted to play for some time. I’m a big horror fan so this game is right up my alley.
Raditz Banpresto figure
Awhile ago I got the Bardock Banpresto figure and I loved how it looked so I decided to buy a Raditz one. This one isn’t as good ; the paint job is a bit iffy (the scouter for example) but overall I’m still quite happy with it! Fits in great with my other Saiyan fighters.
Are you guys expecting to get some gaming related gifts this Christmas? Let me know all about it in the comments!
I’m BACK! It has been a while since I posted a ‘Weekly pick ups’ blog but that is going to change NOW! I bought two PC games for my collection.
Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition (PC)
The only Batman Arkham game that I hadn’t played yet. It’s a port from the PSVita/3DS and that’s noticeable; the graphics aren’t as nice and the game is slimmed down a lot. But it’s still a fun game and I can’t really complain for €4.99.
Rainbow Six Siege (PC)
I played this game in its beta fase and I really liked it but I didn’t have any friends who wanted to play it so I didn’t pick it up. A couple of days ago a friend and I were bored and we found Rainbow Six Siege on sale and decided to give it a go. So far it has been really fun (even though I’m rubbish); the game is intense, the gun play feels tight and there’s a lot of stuff to unlock. If things keep on going this way I might even buy some of the DLC.
What’s your favorite tactical shooter of all time? (mine’s SWAT 4) Let me know in the comments!
In the last ‘weekly pick-ups’ I talked about how much I love collector’s editions and I thought to myself; why not make a top 5 of my favorite collector’s editions off all time? I did some research and made a top 5. Let me know what you think about my top 5 in the comments!
What’s in the box?
- 6 inch Big Daddy figure
- Making of DVD and Soundtrack
- The game in a steelcase
The original Bioshock is one of my favorite fps games of all time. The setting, the story; it’s just great. The collector’s edition of this game was equally great because of the superb Big Daddy statue. People are asking crazy money for this now on eBay/Amazon so if you own this; great investment!
What’s in the box?
- 30 cm figurine of Batman and The Joker
- Assassins dossier pack
- 3 pieces of DLC
I’m a huge Batman fan but I didn’t buy this on release even though I thought that the figure looked incredible. The price was just a bit too high on release so I waited for it to come down a bit and it took quite some time for the price to drop. I bought this last year for the PS3 for €50 (new) which is an amazing deal! The US version had a different collector’s edition which had a blu-ray and a different figure but I’m still very happy with mine.
Injustice Gods Among Us
What’s in the box?
- 23 cm figure of Wonder Woman fighting Batman
- An Injustice comic book
- 3 DLC Skins
The DC trend continues with Injustice; a great fighting game that came out in 2013. The collector’s edition has a really nice looking statue of Wonder Woman fighting Batman. I still kick myself in the head for this one because I could have owned this for €40 but I passed up on it because, at the time, I didn’t own a PS3. We all make mistakes sometimes.
Assassin’s Creed III
What’s in the box?
- A 24-cm figurine of Connor
- George Washington’s notebook revealing all the truth & secrets about the Assassins and the Templar’s during the American Revolution
- A steelbook case featuring art by award-winning comic artist Alex Ross
- Exclusive lithograph
- Single-Player Mission: Lost Mayan Ruins (DLC)
- Single-Player Mission: Ghost of War (DLC)
- Sawtooth Sword (DLC)
- Obwandiyag’s War Club (DLC)
- The Sharpshooter Multiplayer Package: Including 1 new Animi Avatar, The Sharpshooter, 1 Relic, 1 Emblem, 1 special Picture and the Title of “The Jester” (DLC)
Ubisoft is known for their great collector’s edition (and for buggy games on release) and this one is my favorite. The figurine looks great and you get a whole lot of extras with it! I pre-ordered this one for the Xbox 360 but then my Xbox broke and I sold it off to a friend. What a shame.
Call of Duty: Black ops 3
What’s in the box?
- Juggernog Mini-Fridge
- Perk-A-Cola Coaster Set With Custom Tin
- Season Pass
- Limited Edition Specialist Concept Art Cards
- The Giant Zombies Bonus Map
- Collectible Steelbook™
- In-Game Bonus Content: Weaponized 115
- In-Game Bonus Content: Cyborg
- Official Call Of Duty: Black Ops III Soundtrack
- In-Game Bonus Content: Black Ops 3 Bonus Pack
This my favorite collector’s edition of all time! The fridge is just super cool and the fact that you get the season pass with it is a great bonus. It was pretty expensive on release (and even more expensive now) but I don’t give up the hope that I’ll find one for a decent price in the wild!
