Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 82!

This week we take a trip to the past. I bought some new/old toys that were a big part of my childhood. Let’s see what I got!

Virgil Tracy Thunderbirds Action Figure Doll (Matchbox)

I loved Thunderbirds growing up; I had all the VHS tapes and I would watch them whenever I could. I also owned most of the toys that were available at the time (including the Tracy Island set) and I loved them! I however stupidly sold them in my teenage years and I regret that decision till this day. A couple of weeks ago I found one of these dolls on eBay; complete and in the box for about €30 with shipping; not a bad price for a piece of my childhood. This doll will get a prominent place in my collection; probably right next to the dvd boxset.

Rocksteady; TMNT classics

Last week I got a bunch of TMNT stuff and this week I added this Rocksteady figure. I bought it on Amazon for €20 and I want to re-watch the classic cartoon every time I look at the packaging. This will go perfect with the Bebop action figure that I got last week!

What did you guys sell in the past that you now regret? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 81!

I’ve picked up a lot of stuff this week so let’s dive straight into it!

TMNT Ninja Stealth Bike, Bebop Action figure and TMNT Sewer Sandcruiser

I went to a flea market and found the Ninja Stealth bike and the Sewer Sandcruiser for a very good price (€5 each). I know that they aren’t complete but for that kind of money I don’t really care. The Bebop figure (from the Out of the Shadows movie) is brand new and was on sale for €6.99; not a bad price for a figure that originally sold for €14.99.

X-Men Apocalypse (Blu-Ray)

The weakest film from the ‘new’ X-Men trilogy (First class, Days of Future Past and Apocalypse) but I needed it to further complete my Marvel movie collection. It was only €8 so it’s not that bad of a deal.

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 71!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Heroes in a half-shell

Turtle power!

Owh yes, this week it’s all about the mighty heroes in a half-shell (the song is stuck in your head now isn’t?). And we get a last minute visit from a cowboy!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan (PS3)

This game received some horrible reviews but because it was so cheap (€8) I decided to give it a try. It’s a standard brawler but that’s not a bad thing for me because I like those kinds of games. It does get repetitive after a short while so I only play 1 level at the time. For the price it isn’t a bad game if you want to play a TMNT game but I do see why it got bad reviews.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 movie pack ! (blu-ray)

This set contains both the TMNT films with Megan Fox. They aren’t the best films in the world but they are entertaining. The second one, for me, is better just because it has Beebop and Rocksteady.

Red Dead Revolver (PS4)

Red Dead Revolver was one of my favorite games on the old Xbox. When I saw it discounted on the PSN Store I decided to get it and see how good it is by today’s standards. So far I’ve played about 9 chapters and it’s not as good as I remembered it; the game has so many glitches that I didn’t notice (or can’t remember) when I played it on the Xbox. It still is a fun game but be aware; the game is a probably a lot better in your head than it is now (nostalgia goggles are a powerful weapon).

What’s a game that you loved when you were younger but that didn’t really pass the test of time? Let me know in the comments!
