My thoughts: I’m HYPED ! I loved the first Injustice game and this looks to be more of the same; GIVE IT TO ME. I’m still waiting to pre-order it (you get Darkseid DLC if you pre-order it now) until they announce the special edition (there better be one!) ; I missed out on the special edition of the first game and I won’t make the same mistake twice!
The temperatures have been off the chart this week so I didn’t spend too much time inside playing games/watching movies. The hot weather however didn’t stop me from buying a lot of stuff. Let’s see what I got this week!
Straight Outta Compton (blu-ray)
I saw this movie in the theater and I absolutely loved it! I’m a big fan of old rap music (I also appreciate some of the newer stuff) so this movie needed to be in my collection.
Lego Jurassic World and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix (PS3)
Lego games are always fun, especially when you can buy them for €9.99. Kingdom Hearts was a game that I always wanted to play but I never got around to actually playing it. I found it in a toy store for €19.99 which isn’t a bad price (a used one was sold recently on the Belgium eBay site for €24.99).
DC Comics Super Heroes: Robin vs Bane
If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I’m a big fan of Lego superheroes. These Mighty Micros sets are great value for money: for around €10 you get 2 figurines and 2 vehicles.

Everyone who has followed my blog for some time must know that I’m a HUGE Batman fan. So it’s not really a surprise that this week’s pickups are, once again, dominated by the caped crusader. But what did I get?
Batman Arkham Knight figurines: Arkham Knight,Nightwing, Commissioner Gordon,Catwoman and Robin
I already owned 2 of the Arkham Knight figurines (Scarecrow and Azrael) and I paid €22 for each of them. When I saw all of these on sale for €9.99 each I didn’t hesitate to buy them all. I’m not really planning on getting them all but they are a nice addition to my Batman collection.
Batman the Animated Series season 1 and 2 (DVD)
Probably the best animated superhero series of all time. I loved this show as a kid and I think it’s still great to watch now.
Who’s your favorite Batman villain? Let me know in the comments!
When Batman disappears it’s up to Nightwing to take up the role of the Dark Knight. Meanwhile he, Batwoman and Robin try to find out what happened to the ‘real’ Batman.
The story is quite original and there are a few unexpected things that happen along the way to keep it entertaining/interesting. It’s also nice that we get to see a more ‘unstable’ version of Batman instead of the cool and calm Dark Knight that we are used to seeing. The action is solid and will definitely keep you entertained for the duration of the film.
The only thing that bothers me a bit is how casually the heroes act when a villain dies. They joke about it (even Alfred!) and that really doesn’t fit Batman’s ‘we don’t kill anyone’ narrative.
Conclusion: Batman Bad Blood is a very solid DC animated film. The story is interesting and the action is nice to watch. And it was also very cool to see Batwing and The Mad Hatter in an animated film.
Batman vs. Robin is a direct sequel to Son of Batman. Bruce Wayne and his son, Damien, try to find a way to put their differences aside and work together as Batman and Robin. But that turns out to be harder than Bruce had anticipated because of Damien’s hard upbringing in the League of Assassins. When a new force threatens Gotham, Damien needs to make a tough choice: Batman and his father or doing what he was taught when he was with the League.
The movie is pretty action packed and the action sequences are great and bloody. But the story is also interesting to follow but too bad that the ending itself is pretty predictable. The relationships between the different characters (both good and bad guys) are intriguing and give the movie some depth. If you are fan of Nightwing then you’re in for a treat: he has much more screen time in this film than in Son of Batman.
Conclusion: Batman vs. Robin is an entertaining movie and a must watch for every Batman fan. If you haven’t seen Son of Batman yet then I recommend you watch that one first because it gives Damien a little more back-story.
