This week we take a trip to the past. I bought some new/old toys that were a big part of my childhood. Let’s see what I got!
Virgil Tracy Thunderbirds Action Figure Doll (Matchbox)
I loved Thunderbirds growing up; I had all the VHS tapes and I would watch them whenever I could. I also owned most of the toys that were available at the time (including the Tracy Island set) and I loved them! I however stupidly sold them in my teenage years and I regret that decision till this day. A couple of weeks ago I found one of these dolls on eBay; complete and in the box for about €30 with shipping; not a bad price for a piece of my childhood. This doll will get a prominent place in my collection; probably right next to the dvd boxset.
Rocksteady; TMNT classics
Last week I got a bunch of TMNT stuff and this week I added this Rocksteady figure. I bought it on Amazon for €20 and I want to re-watch the classic cartoon every time I look at the packaging. This will go perfect with the Bebop action figure that I got last week!
What did you guys sell in the past that you now regret? Let me know in the comments!
Only one purchase this week and it’s an Indie game! But there are so many Indie games so which one did I buy? Let’s find out!
Cursed Castilla (Maldita Castilla EX) (PC)
I played this games YEARS ago (Maldita Castilla) when it was a free download and I loved it. It reminded me a lot of Ghouls and Ghosts; one of my favorite SNES games. I recently found out that it was on Steam so when it went on sale I didn’t think twice before picking it up. It’s a great game for anyone who’s nostalgic for the good old SNES days!

This week it’s all about consoles! I bought two new (well old really) consoles for my collection and I also bought some PS4 games on PSN.
Sega Dreamcast + VMU + Hydro Thunder
I owned a Dreamcast before (many many years ago) but I sold it because I wanted a new bike. About a week ago I saw a lot of posts celebrating the 17th anniversary of the release of the DC in North America and I decided it was time to get myself another Dreamcast. The set that I got includes everything you need to get started; the console, the controller, a vmu and a game. I chose Hydro Thunder for two reasons; the first is that it’s a fun game and the second one is that it was pretty cheap.
Microsoft Xbox Sega GT 2002/Jet Set Radio Future set
My original Xbox broke and I needed a replacement. I found this one for a decent price and it’s in great condition. The box is a bit damaged but the set came with an extra controller which is always nice. Now I can continue to dominate the court in NBA Street 2!
Killzone Shadow Fall and Air Conflicts Pacific Carriers (PS4)
Killzone was one of my favourite PS2 games but I didn’t really pay attention to any of the sequels because I switched to an Xbox 360 (I didn’t have the money to buy a 360 and a PS3). Now I go back to the series with Shadow Fall. I’ve read some good things about the game online so I don’t think that €9 is a bad price. Air Conflicts Pacific Carriers is one of my guilty pleasures. I love flying games but only the more arcade style games (Dogfight 1942, Blazing Angels, …) so this is right up my alley.
What console did you own in the early 2000’s? A Playstation 2? An Xbox? Let me know in the comments!
November is a huge month for game releases. Black Ops 3, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront; they are all being released this month. I didn’t get my hands on any of the new releases (yet) but I did buy some other stuff. Are you curious to see what it is?
Arrow Season 2 (blu-ray)
Probably the best season of Arrow (season 4 has been fantastic so far; it has the potential to become the greatest season of Arrow). Deathstroke is a great villain and the addition of new characters like the White Canary make this season really enjoyable.
Shovel Knight (PS4)
8-bit indie games are really popular because they gave the older gamers a feeling of nostalgia. That’s why some of these 8-bit indie games are really bad; they focus a lot on hitting your ‘nostalgic feelings’ and not so much on the gameplay. Shovel Knight isn’t such a game. The game is super fun, gives you a great challenge and has a pretty cool soundtrack.
