Weekly pick-ups: Week 102!

Another week, another huge haul of games!

Fable Anniversary, Fable II and Borderlands Triple Pack (Xbox 360)

I really wanted to play the Fable games again and the good thing about the Fable games is that they are backwards compatible with the Xbox One. Fable Anniversary was pretty expensive but I didn’t really mind. Borderlands Triple Pack is a weird one for me; I never really enjoyed a Borderlands game but for the low price of €8 I was willing to give them another go.

Deux EX Mankind Divided, Assassins Creed Unity, Evil Within 2 (PS4)

Yes, I know that you can currently get Deux EX for free with Playstation Plus; I completely forgot about it. Unity completes my Assassins Creed collection (well, I still need the chronicles collection but I’ll find those eventually) and Evil Within 2 was just really cheap so why not? I’m a big horror movie/game guy so this game must be right up my alley.

The Elders Scrolls Online (Xbox One)

The game was really cheap and that’s the only reason that I got it. I’ll definitely play it but I doubt that I’ll actually enjoy it. I’m just not a big fan of the newer Elder Scrolls games (I loved Morrowind but after that I just couldn’t get into Elder Scrolls games).

Enslaved and Little Big Planet (PS3)

Two games to add to the PS3 collection; Enslaved looked cool and interesting and Little Big Planet is a must have for any Playstation owner.

Weekly pick-ups: Week 101!

What a crazy week! I got some more PS3 games and I added an absolute gem to my PS2 collection!

Crysis 2, Crysis 3, Aliens vs Predator, ModNation Racers, Sacred 3 first edition, Dragon Age 1 and Dragon Age 2 (PS3)

The ‘get 3, pay 2’ deal was still going strong so I decided to add some more games to my PS3 collection. I mostly got games that looked interesting. I played Modnation Racers for a bit and that’s really fun. And today I’m going to see how Crysis 2 runs on a PS3.

Assassins Creed Ezio Collection (Xbox One)

My colleague is a big Assassins Creed fan and he’s the reason that I wanted to revisit the series. The Ezio collection is perfect for that because it has 3 games!

Assassins Creed (Xbox 360)

The only Assassins Creed game that I ever completed. I got it just to complete my collection but because it is backwards compatible with the Xbox One, I can still pop it in and play it sometime.

Assassins Creed Syndicate, Sniper Elite 4 and Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY (PS4)

I bought Sniper Elite 4 in an impuls but it was really entertaining. The story is a bit short but it’s a very enjoyable game. The other two games fit in nicely with the rest of my purchases (completing the series of both Assassins Creed and Dragon Age).

Metal Slug Anthology (PS2)

I’m a HUGE Metal Slug fan and this Anthology gives me a ton of Metal Slug for a very low price.

Incredible Hulk Q-Fig

The Q-Fig series is a bit like funko POP’s but better (at least for me) because the overal finish and look is just nicer (once again, just my opinion). My brother got this for me and it looks great!

Weekly pick-ups: Week 100!

Time for a party! For this 100th blog entry I got some sweet PS3 and Xbox One games and 1 pretty big pluche!

GTA IV, GTA Episodes of Liberty City, Army of Two 40th Day, Warriors Orochi 3 and Dynasty Warriors Strike force (PS3)

I wasn’t a big fan of GTA IV when I first played it but I decided to give it a second chance and I also got the two big DLC packs for it. The three other games were a bundle; get 3, pay 2.

Stardew Valley Collectors Edition and Rayman Legends (Xbox One)

Normally I only buy Xbox One exclusives but I made an exception for these two games. Stardew Valley looks to be a lot of fun (and a bit of a time eater) and I just love Rayman Legends; the game is so beautiful and fun to play!

Junimo pluche

Got it for €12 for no particular reason. It just looks cool.

Medal of Honor Rising Sun (Xbox)

A great entry in the, now dead, Medal of Honor franchise. Got it for €2 in a second hand shop.

Master Roshi coin bank

I’m a big Dragon Ball fan and I found this great looking coin bank for €12 and I just couldn’t resist it. Fits in nicely with the rest of my Dragon Ball figurines!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 97!

Weekly pick ups returns with a bang! I added a lot of games to my PS3 collection and I got a new console! Let’s do this!

SNES Mini

I bought this for two reason: to play Super Castlevania IV and Super Mario World and the reason that I got this instead of a classic SNES; the size. This fits perfectly on my desk without needing to move everything around.

Soul Calibur IV, Soul Calibur V, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, Dynasty Warriors 7 Empires, Silent Hill Homecoming (PS3)

The announcement of Soul Calibur VI made me so excited that I wanted to play a Soul Calibur game again. I found both games for a very good price and I already finished both of them. Great games and I can’t wait for Soul Calibur VI. Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions is a great Spider-Man game because you can play as different versions of Spider-Man who all play differently. The noir version of Spider-Man is a stealth specialist, whilst the venom version of Spider-Man uses brute force. The variety really makes the game fun to play. I’m a big fan of Dynasty Warriors games and I still missed this one in my collection so I picked it up. And then we got Silent Hill Homecoming; I haven’t played it yet but I really wanted to play a Silent Hill game. I’m still looking for the HD collection of the first games but that seems to be pretty hard to find (and a bit too expensive).

Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package (PS4)

This version includes all the DLC and extra’s that were released for Dead Rising 4 on Xbox One and PC. I’m not a huge fan of this game because it is a bit too easy. Still a fun game to play though.

Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (Xbox One)

One of the most popular games on Steam right now and that’s why people were really excited that it would get an Xbox One release. Well it turns out that the game isn’t optimized for the Xbox One and therefore it runs horribly. The graphics are bad and the framerate dips below 30 a bit too much. It is an early access title so things can still improve drastically but so far it isn’t a great game on the Xbox One.

Puzzle Bobble Universe (3DS)

It’s Puzzle Bobble; what more can I say? This game is perfect for short gaming sessions of 10-15 minutes and that’s exactly why I got it.

Are you guys a fan of these mini versions of classic consoles? And which console do you want to see remade as a mini console? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 96!

I’m back! I took a couple of weeks of but now I’m back with a bang!

Nintendo 3DS XL Super Nintendo Edition

I wanted a 3DS for a long time but I didn’t really like the colors/special editions. That all changed when I saw this beauty! It looks amazing and I’ve spent a good chunk of my free time playing New Super Mario Bros 2. Which brings me to …

New Super Mario Bros 2, Kirby Triple Deluxe and Zelda Ocarina of Time (3DS)

You need some good games to play on your new console and I got these 3. All Nintendo games and all of them received good reviews (or at least decent reviews). I’ve almost finished New Super Mario Bros 2 and then I’m probably going to play some Zelda.

Kirby Amiibo

There isn’t really a particular reason that I got this. I saw it in the shop, liked the look of it and just got it. Fits in nicely with my Shovel Knight Amiibo.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (PS3)

Yes, I know that you can play the PS2 version on the PS4 but it’s nice to get a physical copy of the game for my PS3. I’ll probably play it a ton around Christmas.

LA Noire and Bioshock Collection (PS4)

LA Noire was (and still is) a brilliant game. Finding clues, figuring out if someone is lying or not; it’s all done so very well. There are still some bugs in the game but that doesn’t really ruin to fun! The original Bioshock is one of my favorite games ever and I wanted to play it again so I got the entire collection. Bioshock 2 is more action packed but still good and Bioshock Ininite is also a great game.

What’s your favorite version of the 3DS? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 95!

The madness continues with another HUGE haul!

Lord of the Rings: Third Age (Xbox)

Last week I got the game for the PS2 but that disc was damaged so it didn’t work. So I went on eBay and found myself a copy of the game for the original Xbox. The game is complete and in very good condition and most importantly; it works.

Call of Duty WWII Limited Edition Crate, Call of Duty WWII Guide and Call of Duty WWII (PS4)

Yes, I’m a fan of the latest title in the Call of Duty franchise. The single player is awesome and the multiplayer, even with the current flaws, is still fun to play. I already did an unboxing for the limited edition crate; you can find the video a bit further down on my blog. And then finally I bought the guide. I’m a sucker for physical  guides and this one is really high quality (hardcover for the win!). I mostly use it for zombies but it still fun to read when I have a couple of minutes to spare.

Need for Speed Payback (PS4)

I can be pretty brief on this one; I haven’t played it yet and the reviews don’t seem all that amazing. I got it because the trailers looked promising and I wanted an ‘easy’ racing game to play when I’m not playing FIFA/Call of Duty. I’ll let you guys know what I think of it when I find some time to play it.

Assassins Creed 3: Join or Die Edition (PS3)

It was cheap and it’s complete; so why not? I’ve played a fair bit of this game but I never managed to complete it. I might give it another go when I find some time for it (which won’t be in the next few weeks).

What’s your favorite Call of Duty game? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 94!

A huge haul this week; I bought a lot of games for 3 different consoles!

Conflict Desert Storm 1 + 2 and Lord of the Rings Third Age (PS2)

I never owned the original Conflict Desert Storm but I did play the first level a lot on a demo that came with the official Playstation magazine. The second one is just an overall improvement and it’s still fun to play. Lord of the Rings Third Age is a bit of a sad story; it’s one of my favorite LOTR games but the disc is damaged so it doesn’t work properly. I bought a new copy (for the original Xbox) and that should be on its way !

Spider-Man Edge of Time + Green Lantern (PS3)

Two solid additions to my ever growing ‘superhero’ gaming collection. I’ve completed the Spider-Man game before and I loved it but I haven’t played the Green Lantern game. I hope it’s better than the movie because that was rubbish.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Collector’s Edition + Assassins Creed Origins Deluxe Edition + Friday The 13th (PS4)

So many games; so little time. I’ve completed the main story of Wolfenstein II and let me tell you; it’s amazing. The story is solid and it has its fair share of ‘WTF’ moments and the gameplay feels smooth. I haven’t gotten around to play Assassins Creed but my co worker absolutely loves it so I’m pretty excited to dive into it. And last but certainly not least; Friday The 13th. What better game to play on Halloween night than a game based on one of the most famous slasher franchises. The game isn’t perfect and has some glaring issues but when you find a good set of players it’s really fun to play.
