Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 77!

My collection of psychical PS4 games keeps on growing and this week I added 2 games to this ever-growing list!

Doom UAC Pack + Mafia 3 (PS4)

Both games were on my wanted list for some time and I just waited for a big price drop. I picked up Doom for €19 and Mafia 3 for €20; not a bad deal. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Doom and looking at some gameplay on Youtube I think it’s going to be right up my alley. Mafia 3 received some mixed reviews  but I still look forward playing it. It might not be as good as Mafia 2 but I’ll (hopefully) get some enjoyment from playing it!

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite Gameplay trailer #2 !

First thoughts: It’s great that we get a Marvel and a DC fighting game in the same year and they both look great. Marvel vs Capcom games have always been great; lots of characters and  gameplay that’s easy to play but hard to master. I really look forward to this and I still have my hopes up that they will do a cool collector’s edition (unlike some other superhero fighting game *couch Injustice 2 * cough). But what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 71!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Heroes in a half-shell

Turtle power!

Owh yes, this week it’s all about the mighty heroes in a half-shell (the song is stuck in your head now isn’t?). And we get a last minute visit from a cowboy!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan (PS3)

This game received some horrible reviews but because it was so cheap (€8) I decided to give it a try. It’s a standard brawler but that’s not a bad thing for me because I like those kinds of games. It does get repetitive after a short while so I only play 1 level at the time. For the price it isn’t a bad game if you want to play a TMNT game but I do see why it got bad reviews.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 movie pack ! (blu-ray)

This set contains both the TMNT films with Megan Fox. They aren’t the best films in the world but they are entertaining. The second one, for me, is better just because it has Beebop and Rocksteady.

Red Dead Revolver (PS4)

Red Dead Revolver was one of my favorite games on the old Xbox. When I saw it discounted on the PSN Store I decided to get it and see how good it is by today’s standards. So far I’ve played about 9 chapters and it’s not as good as I remembered it; the game has so many glitches that I didn’t notice (or can’t remember) when I played it on the Xbox. It still is a fun game but be aware; the game is a probably a lot better in your head than it is now (nostalgia goggles are a powerful weapon).

What’s a game that you loved when you were younger but that didn’t really pass the test of time? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 68!

This week wasn’t a big week for pickups; I just bought one PSN game. The following weeks might be a lot better (if some things come back in stock) so be prepared for that!

Trials of the Blood Dragon (PS4)

I’m a big fan of the Trials series so when I saw this on sale for €7 I just bought it. The level design is great but I’m not a huge fan of the changes they made in this game. I like the grappling hook but I really hate the levels on foot. They feel out of place and aren’t as good as the ones with a vehicle. But overall it’s still a fun game with some gorgeous levels and for this price it’s a must buy for any Trials fan.

FIFA17: ULTIMATE TEAM MONTAGE #3

Hello! This week (like last week) there won’t be a ‘Weekly Pick-Ups’ blog post but it will be back next week! To keep you guys entertained I decided to make another FIFA17 Goal montage. It’s the game I play the most (besides Counter-Strike GO) so I had a lot of clips sitting on my hard drive. I tried to show a little bit of everything; long shots, free kicks, skill goals, chips, … . I hope you guys enjoy the video! Enjoy your weekend!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 66!

Last week I bought Dead Rising 3 and this week that zombie trend continues!

Dead Rising Watchtower and Suicide Squad (Extended Blu-ray Digibook) (blu-ray).

Dead Rising Watchtower isn’t going to win any awards but it’s a decent adaption of the Dead Rising games. Could it have been better? Definitely but it is OK. It was also really cheap which made the decision to buy it a lot easier.  Suicide Squad received a lot of bad reviews but I didn’t think it was that bad; an average movie (it could have used a better villain for example) but it seems that it’s cool to hate everything that DC puts out. This is the Digibook version which includes both theatrical version and the extended cut and it also includes a little book with some more information about the members of the Suicide Squad. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that there’s a little tear in the left bottom corner; that hurts my collector heart.

Dead Rising (PS4)

The original! I played this game a lot on my Xbox 360 and I loved it! Even though it’s probably the hardest game in the series it’s still a ton of fun. I bought a physical version because I like to have physical copies of games that I really like (that’s why I’m looking for a cheap physical copy of Dead Rising 3).

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 61!

Black Friday has made its way across the Atlantic! More and more retailers are jumping on the Black Friday hype train here in Belgium and that’s good news for people like me ; gamers on a tight budget.

Battlefield 1 (PS4)

Normally this game retails around €65 but because of Black Friday it was only €35. Great deal for a great game! I’m mostly going to play this online with my brother but I might try out the campaign even though I’ve never been a huge fan of Battlefield campaigns (Hardline was enjoyable but nothing more).
