PC Gaming is built around playing with a mouse and keyboard but some games (sport or race games) are just way more enjoyable with a good controller. The best option these days seems to be a Xbox 360 or a Xbox One controller. But what if you want a cheaper alternative? Well, that’s where the Game Pad Pro Wireless comes in!
The Snakebyte Game Pad Pro Wireless is a wireless (duh) controller for the PC. In the box you find the controller, the bluetooth dongle and a charging cable; not a whole lot but you get everything to get started. To pair the controller with your PC you simply plug in the USB dongle in a USB port and the controller then syncs automatically; it can’t be any easier. The button and stick layout is very reminiscing of that of an Xbox One controller and that’s a good thing because I’m a big fan of the Xbox One layout. The quality of the buttons and triggers is solid; nothing too special (buttons feel a bit too ‘spongy’) but still very good. Same story with the triggers; they aren’t as nice as those on the Xbox One controller but they are perfectly fine.
The only, little, drawback that I experienced is the shape of the controller. The sharp corners feel a bit weird in your hand and it takes some time to get used to it. I then went out and tested the controller with a couple of games (GRID 2, NBA 2K17 and Rocket League) and all the games immediately recognized the controller and I could jump right into the game. Everything felt smooth and after a while I didn’t even notice the difference between this controller and my normal Xbox One controller.
Conclusion: Are you looking for a wireless controller for your PC but the Xbox One version is too expensive? Well then this controller is for you! It’s super easy to use, the buttons are solid and the battery life is above average. And for it’s low price you can basically buy two of these instead of one Xbox One controller.
No new console this week but I did pick up a game for my newly acquired Xbox One and then some other stuff. Let’s dive into it!
Gears of War 4 (Xbox One)
I found this for €20 new which is an amazing deal knowing that it not only has Gears of War 4 but also includes all the Xbox 360 versions of the previous Gears of War games! Pretty neat.
The Final Destination (blu-ray).
My horror movie collection hadn’t seen any updates in a while so I decided to change that. I’m a big fan of the Final Destination series but this one is definitely the weakest of them all. Weirdly the normal blu-ray version was more expensive than this 2D/3D combo; no idea why.
The Cursed Crusade (PC)
I like games set in the Middle Ages so this game was on my radar for some time. I normally buy all my games on Steam but The Cursed Crusade wasn’t in the store anymore so I had to go to Amazon to get it. It’s good that it was cheap because it isn’t a good game.

Public service announcement: From next week on weekly pick ups will be online at around 9 instead of earlier in the day. Stay tuned because next week will be another BIG post (I already spoiled a bit on my Twitter).
Had some clips sitting on my hard drive and I decided to throw them together. Most of the games are on PS4 with the exception of NBA 2K17; that’s on PC! I hope you guys enjoy this short video; next week I’ll be back with a BIG weekly pick ups !
Lawbreakers is a new arena shooter from Cliff Bleszinski; the man who gave us Gears of War and Unreal Tournament. I’ve been playing the beta for a couple of days now and I LOVE it. The gameplay is fast and there’s enough variation between the characters to provide everyone with a class that they like. My favorite gamemode so far is blitzball; two teams try to put the ball into the opponents goal. It’s a ton of fun and it really shows how awesome this game is. The beta is currently open on PC so go check it out!
Only one purchase this week and it’s an Indie game! But there are so many Indie games so which one did I buy? Let’s find out!
Cursed Castilla (Maldita Castilla EX) (PC)
I played this games YEARS ago (Maldita Castilla) when it was a free download and I loved it. It reminded me a lot of Ghouls and Ghosts; one of my favorite SNES games. I recently found out that it was on Steam so when it went on sale I didn’t think twice before picking it up. It’s a great game for anyone who’s nostalgic for the good old SNES days!
What’s your favorite SNES game of all time? Let me know in the comments!
This week we get a visit from Captain America himself and we go on a trip inside a Lego World!
Captain America: Super Soldier (PS3)
A game that I wanted in my collection for a long time but I never found a copy for a decent price; until now. The game isn’t too special but it’s a pretty fun action game with Captain America that is based on the first Captain America movie.
Lego Worlds (PC)
Lego Worlds is a Minecraft style game but with Lego which is kind of funny considering that Minecraft itself was basically based on Lego (do/build whatever you want). I’ve played the game for about 2 hours and I’m not a huge fan. The game feels unfinished/unpolished; building stuff feels clunky, the controls aren’t great (playing with a controller helps) and most of the quests are very straight forward and easy. I’ll continue playing it hoping that it’ll receive some updates but for now I’m not a big fan.

In this week’s edition of ‘Weekly pick ups’ I go on a trip in Middle Earth and I revisit my childhood with some Lego!
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY (PC)
I’ve played this game before on PS4 and I wasn’t a big fan of it. I felt like the game got very repetitive very quickly and that turned me away from it. I sold it and moved on but I kept seeing footage of it on YouTube and it just looked a lot better than I imagined it so I decided to give it a second chance. I went for the PC version simply because it was cheaper than the PS4 one. Hopefully I’ll enjoy it much more this time but only time will tell.
Lego Dimensions starter pack and Aquaman fun pack (PS3)
What’s there to say? Lego sets are pretty cool and making it into a game is a very smart idea. I didn’t jump on the Skylanders/Disney Infinty hype train because I didn’t want to collect another set of figurines. That isn’t a problem with Lego Dimensions because I already collect Lego stuff (mostly superhero/movie related sets). I went for the PS3 version because of the huge price difference (the starter pack on PS3 was €35; the one for PS4 was €75) and it gives me a reason to dust of my PS3.
What’s your favorite Lord of the Rings game? Mine’s definitely the original Battle for Middle Earth; some sweet RTS action set in Middle Earth? YES! Let me know what your favorite game is in the comments below!
