Batman and Harley Quinn Trailer!

First thoughts: DC Animated films are usually pretty good and this one looks promising. Batman and Harley Quinn teaming up is a fun idea (they also work together in Injustice 2) so it might just work. I’m not a big fan of the voice of Harley but maybe I’ll get used to it. Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 50!

My pick-ups have slowed down the last couple of weeks because I’m saving money for all the upcoming game releases. But I still managed to buy two things this week. Let’s see what I got!

Justice League: Gotham City Breakout (DVD)

I normally don’t buy DVD’s anymore because blu-ray’s are better quality and they don’t cost that much more. But for this movie I made an exception because I really wanted that Nightwing LEGO figurine.

Resident Evil Revelations (PC)

Resident Evil games have changed a lot over the years. They started out as survival horror games and transitioned to a more ‘horror shooter’ game in recent years. That change didn’t always work (Resident Evil 6 for example is rubbish) but I really like Revelations. I owned it for the WiiU and when I saw it on sale on Steam I didn’t really hesitate to buy it.

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 40!

Everyone who has followed my blog for some time must know that  I’m a HUGE Batman fan. So it’s not really a surprise that this week’s pickups are, once again, dominated by the caped crusader. But what did I get?

Batman Arkham Knight figurines: Arkham Knight,Nightwing, Commissioner Gordon,Catwoman and Robin

I already owned 2 of the Arkham Knight figurines (Scarecrow and Azrael) and I paid €22 for each of them. When I saw all of these on sale for €9.99 each I didn’t hesitate to buy them all. I’m not really planning on getting them all but they are a nice addition to my Batman collection.

Arkham Knight figurines and Batman the Animated Series part 1 and 2

Batman the Animated Series season 1 and 2 (DVD)

Probably the best animated superhero series of all time. I loved this show as a kid and I think it’s still great to watch now.

Batman Bad Blood (2016) Review !

When Batman disappears it’s up to Nightwing to take up the role of the Dark Knight. Meanwhile he, Batwoman and Robin try to find out what happened to the ‘real’ Batman.

The story is quite original and there are a few unexpected things that happen along the way to keep it entertaining/interesting. It’s also nice that we get to see a more ‘unstable’ version of Batman instead of the cool and calm Dark Knight that we are used to seeing. The action is solid and will definitely keep you entertained for the duration of the film.

The only thing that bothers me a bit is how casually the heroes act when a villain dies. They joke about it (even Alfred!) and that really doesn’t fit Batman’s ‘we don’t kill anyone’ narrative.

Conclusion: Batman Bad Blood is a very solid DC animated film. The story is interesting and the action is nice to watch. And it was also very cool to see Batwing and The Mad Hatter in an animated film.

Score: 8/10

Weekly pick-ups: Week 17

A week where I bought more than 1 thing?! What is this madness?

Red Hood story and GCPD Lockdown DLC

I’ve picked up these two DLC items because I got a bit bored of playing FIFA 16 all the time. They are both very short but they are a lot of fun.

The Joker and Harley Quinn Arkham Asylum Pop Vinyl figures

The last two pop vinyl figures that I needed to complete my Arkham Asylum collection. I’m not a huge fan of the Harley Quinn figure, mostly because she can’t stand up straight (her feet aren’t the same height). But overall I’m really happy that I completed this little collection.
