Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 92!

This week it’s all about South Park!

South Park The Fractured But Whole Collector’s Edition (PS4)

I was a big fan of the Stick of Truth so I didn’t think twice about picking this up. The game is really fun (it has a bit of a slow start but after that it’s great) and the extra’s in the collector’s edition are great. The the Coon figurine is well made and nicely detailed (Ubisoft has a thing for making good figurines/statues) and the post cards are a cool little extra. It also comes with a PS4 download code for the Stick of Truth; great for the people who missed the first game!

What games are you excited for this month? Assassins Creed Origins? Super Mario Odyssey? Wolfenstein II ? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 78!

Sometimes I browse online shops just for the fun of it. I’m not really looking for anything in particular; I’m just looking around. I did this a couple of days ago when I came across this Batman v Superman Armored Batman figure. And it is awesome!

Batman v Superman: Armored Batman

This Batman figure is 50 cm tall and still has a decent amount of articulation and detail. The paint job could have been better but overall it is a very nice looking Batman figurine. I made a comparison shot to show you guys just how big it really is. The Batman figure in front of it is about 15 cm tall.

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 63!

I’m already feeling the Holiday spirit because I received 2 awesome gifts from a friend. I also got something to put on my ears and something to put on my shelf. Let’s see what I got!

Watch Dogs 2 (PC)

I’ve never played the first Watch Dogs and to be honest; I wasn’t going to buy this one. The game looked interesting but not interesting enough for me to pay full price. Turned out I didn’t have to pay anything to own the game thanks to an awesome friend! He bought a new graphics card and got the game with it but he already bought it so he gifted it to me! Thanks man! I’ve played Watch Dogs 2 for a couple of hours now and I really enjoy it. There’s a lot to do in the city, the hacking is fun and the multiplayer is really nice. The only thing that I don’t really like is how the cars handle but that’s not too bad in the grand scheme of things.

Logitech G430

I wanted a wireless headset but I couldn’t find one for a decent price so I opted to go with this one because I can use it on my PC and PS4. It was on sale (€64.90 instead of €72.99) which made it a pretty good deal.

Outlast (PC)

Another gift (from the same guy, I’m starting to think that he really is Santa Claus!) that I got recently for a game that I wanted to play for some time. I’m a big horror fan so this game is right up my alley.

Raditz Banpresto figure

Awhile ago I got the Bardock Banpresto figure and I loved how it looked so I decided to buy a Raditz one. This one isn’t as good ; the paint job is a bit iffy (the scouter for example) but overall I’m still quite happy with it! Fits in great with my other Saiyan fighters.

Top 5 Collector’s Editions!

In the last ‘weekly pick-ups’ I talked about how much I love collector’s editions and I thought to myself; why not make a top 5 of my favorite collector’s editions off all time? I did some research and made a top 5. Let me know what you think about my top 5 in the comments!

5)

Bioshock

What’s in the box?

  • 6 inch Big Daddy figure
  • Making of DVD and Soundtrack
  • The game in a steelcase

The original Bioshock is one of my favorite fps games of all time. The setting, the story; it’s just great. The collector’s edition of this game was equally great because of the superb Big Daddy statue. People are asking crazy money for this now on eBay/Amazon so if you own this; great investment!

4)

Batman:Arkham Origins

What’s in the box?

  • 30 cm figurine of Batman and The Joker
  • Steelcase
  • Artbook
  • Assassins dossier pack
  • 3 pieces of DLC

I’m a huge Batman fan but I didn’t buy this on release even though I thought that the figure looked incredible.  The price was just a bit too high on release so I waited for it to come down a bit and it took quite some time for the price to drop. I bought this last year for the PS3 for €50 (new) which is an amazing deal! The US version had a different collector’s edition which had a blu-ray and a different figure but I’m still very happy with mine.

3)

Injustice Gods Among Us

What’s in the box?

  • 23 cm figure of Wonder Woman fighting Batman
  • An Injustice comic book
  • Steelcase
  • 3 DLC Skins

The DC trend continues with Injustice; a great fighting game that came out in 2013. The collector’s edition has a really nice looking statue of Wonder Woman fighting Batman. I still kick myself in the head for this one because I could have owned this for €40 but I passed up on it because, at the time, I didn’t own a PS3. We all make mistakes sometimes.

2)

Assassin’s Creed III

What’s in the box?

  • A 24-cm figurine of Connor
  • George Washington’s notebook revealing all the truth & secrets about the Assassins and the Templar’s during the American Revolution
  • A steelbook case featuring art by award-winning comic artist Alex Ross
  • Exclusive lithograph
  • Single-Player Mission: Lost Mayan Ruins (DLC)
  • Single-Player Mission: Ghost of War (DLC)
  • Sawtooth Sword (DLC)
  • Obwandiyag’s War Club (DLC)
  • The Sharpshooter Multiplayer Package: Including 1 new Animi Avatar, The Sharpshooter, 1 Relic, 1 Emblem, 1 special Picture and the Title of “The Jester” (DLC)

Ubisoft is known for their great collector’s edition (and for buggy games on release) and this one is my favorite. The figurine looks great and you get a whole lot of extras with it! I pre-ordered this one for the Xbox 360 but then my Xbox broke and I sold it off to a friend. What a shame.

Call of Duty: Black ops 3

What’s in the box?

  • Juggernog Mini-Fridge
  • Perk-A-Cola Coaster Set With Custom Tin
  • Season Pass
  • Limited Edition Specialist Concept Art Cards
  • The Giant Zombies Bonus Map
  • Collectible Steelbook™
  • In-Game Bonus Content: Weaponized 115
  • In-Game Bonus Content: Cyborg
  • Official Call Of Duty: Black Ops III Soundtrack
  • In-Game Bonus Content: Black Ops 3 Bonus Pack

This my favorite collector’s edition of all time! The fridge is just super cool and the fact that you get the season pass with it is a great bonus.  It was pretty expensive on release (and even more expensive now) but I don’t give up the hope that I’ll find one for a decent price in the wild!

Weekly pick-ups: Week 37!

It’s been awhile since something Marvel related popped up in this segment but today that drought ends! Besides the Marvel pickups I also added some blu-rays to my growing blu-ray collection.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Power Charged Electro Figure

I know, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a pretty mediocre (some would say bad) film but that didn’t stop me from picking up this toy. It’s rather small but it has a pretty cool light up feature. The fact that it cost less than €4 made it even better.

Avengers Age of Ultron All-Stars Hulk Figure

Two things made me buy this figure: the price and the fact that this was by far the best looking one they still had in the shop. The other one that was still available, Captain America, looks absolutely horrible. This figurine gets a spot in front of my Hulk collector’s edition DVD.

The Imitation Game, The Purge Anarchy and Welp (Blu-ray)

The Imitation Game is a movie that my brother really likes, the Purge Anarchy is a lot better than the first one (that was just boring) and Welp is a Belgian horror film and even though I thought it was pretty mediocre, I still bought it to support the makers.

Weekly pick-ups: Week 30

Last week I got the collector’s edition of Mortal Kombat X and this week I added another Mortal Kombat game to my collection. I also got a nice piece of hardware and a figurine. So there’s a lot to dive into so let’s get started!

Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe (PS3)

I’ve played this game before on the Xbox 360 but I didn’t own it. I went on eBay and found a copy for €8 which is a fair price for this game. I have played it a bit and it feels a bit sluggish compared to the newer Mortal Kombat games. But it’s still a fun game.

Mortal Kombat X, Azreal and Nvidia Shield

Nvidia Shield K1 tablet

I LOVE this tablet. The screen is gorgeous, everything runs smoothly and it has some nice features build in (recording gameplay for instance). It’s a shame that you need to buy the wireless controller separately (for €60)but you can also use a PS3 controller (Google is your friend here). I’ll do a more in depth review in the near future so keep your eyes open for that.

Azrael Arkham Knight Figurine

I pre-ordered this figurine as soon as it was announced. It looks really nice and the build quality is excellent!

Weekly pick-ups: Week 22

Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! I only bought one thing this week and it is Ghostbusters related.

Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Bank

Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is an iconic Ghostbusters character. He’s both terrifying (he’s huge) and sweet (he’s a marshmallow man!). I found this one in a comic book store for €20 which is a great deal (even Amazon sells it for more).
