I’ve always loved the God of War games. The mix of a great story and solid fighting mechanics made the franchise a must have for Playstation owners. The newest addition in the series dumps the Greek mythology and goes all in on the Norse mythology. I personally like that move; it keeps the series fresh. I went out and got the collectors edition that I unbox in the video below. Have you picked up the new God of War game yet? Let me know in the comments!
This week I got some awesome figurines and I added a bunch of games to my Xbox collection!
Dead Island Definitive Edition: Slaughter Pack (PS4) (not pictured)
As a horror movie/game guy I just couldn’t pass this one up. Great games and some really nice extra’s for a budget price. If you want to see an unboxing for it; https://wp.me/p6lqKe-e0
Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, Knight of the Temple Infernal Crusade, Obscure, Soldier of Fortune II, Batman Begins, Cold Fear and XIII (Xbox)
All of these games were cheap (around €5 each) and that’s the reason why I got them. I really want to play XIII but I don’t want to open it up (it’s still factory sealed). I might just go out and buy another copy because that’s an amazing game!
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Collectors Edition
The game isn’t that great (it’s OK but pretty disappointing if you’re a fan of the series) but the collectors edition is something else. You get four amazing figurines; Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Chun-Li and Mega Man and you also get a box (that lights up) with the Infinity stones!
What do you guys think about collecting factory sealed stuff? Stupid (because you can’t play it) or smart (because the value may increase)? Let me know in the comments!
Another big week for pick ups! I got some sweet collectors editions and a brand new controller!
Kingdom Come Deliverance Collectors Edition (PS4)
A great collectors edition for a very good price. If you want to see everything that’s in it, check out my unboxing video here; https://wp.me/p6lqKe-dO
Dynasty Warriors 9 + Steelcase and Carmageddon Max Damage (PS4)
The first open world Dynasty Warriors game! The steelcase was a pre-order extra; great if you love that kind of stuff (and I do love a good steelcase). Carmageddon was cheap and I just wanted to see how it’s like.
Shadow of the Colossus + Valus Statue (PS4)
According to critics, this is the best remaster ever. I still haven’t played it but I have shown the Valus statue in detail on video; check that out right here https://wp.me/p6lqKe-dQ
Sea of Thieves Limited Edition Controller (Xbox One)
A fantastic looking controller for the Xbox One. The skull logo actually lights up in the dark but I’ll probably never see it because I’m not planning on actually using the controller.
Call of Duty Valor Collection
This statue originally retailed at €150 here in Belgium. I liked the look of it but I didn’t want to pay that much. A few days ago however I saw it on Amazon for around €50 which is a much better price so I picked it up. It looks great and it gets a spot in my Call of Duty WWII Collection!

A huge haul this week; I bought a lot of games for 3 different consoles!
Conflict Desert Storm 1 + 2 and Lord of the Rings Third Age (PS2)
I never owned the original Conflict Desert Storm but I did play the first level a lot on a demo that came with the official Playstation magazine. The second one is just an overall improvement and it’s still fun to play. Lord of the Rings Third Age is a bit of a sad story; it’s one of my favorite LOTR games but the disc is damaged so it doesn’t work properly. I bought a new copy (for the original Xbox) and that should be on its way !
Spider-Man Edge of Time + Green Lantern (PS3)
Two solid additions to my ever growing ‘superhero’ gaming collection. I’ve completed the Spider-Man game before and I loved it but I haven’t played the Green Lantern game. I hope it’s better than the movie because that was rubbish.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Collector’s Edition + Assassins Creed Origins Deluxe Edition + Friday The 13th (PS4)
So many games; so little time. I’ve completed the main story of Wolfenstein II and let me tell you; it’s amazing. The story is solid and it has its fair share of ‘WTF’ moments and the gameplay feels smooth. I haven’t gotten around to play Assassins Creed but my co worker absolutely loves it so I’m pretty excited to dive into it. And last but certainly not least; Friday The 13th. What better game to play on Halloween night than a game based on one of the most famous slasher franchises. The game isn’t perfect and has some glaring issues but when you find a good set of players it’s really fun to play.

In the last ‘weekly pick-ups’ I talked about how much I love collector’s editions and I thought to myself; why not make a top 5 of my favorite collector’s editions off all time? I did some research and made a top 5. Let me know what you think about my top 5 in the comments!
What’s in the box?
- 6 inch Big Daddy figure
- Making of DVD and Soundtrack
- The game in a steelcase
The original Bioshock is one of my favorite fps games of all time. The setting, the story; it’s just great. The collector’s edition of this game was equally great because of the superb Big Daddy statue. People are asking crazy money for this now on eBay/Amazon so if you own this; great investment!
What’s in the box?
- 30 cm figurine of Batman and The Joker
- Assassins dossier pack
- 3 pieces of DLC
I’m a huge Batman fan but I didn’t buy this on release even though I thought that the figure looked incredible. The price was just a bit too high on release so I waited for it to come down a bit and it took quite some time for the price to drop. I bought this last year for the PS3 for €50 (new) which is an amazing deal! The US version had a different collector’s edition which had a blu-ray and a different figure but I’m still very happy with mine.
Injustice Gods Among Us
What’s in the box?
- 23 cm figure of Wonder Woman fighting Batman
- An Injustice comic book
- 3 DLC Skins
The DC trend continues with Injustice; a great fighting game that came out in 2013. The collector’s edition has a really nice looking statue of Wonder Woman fighting Batman. I still kick myself in the head for this one because I could have owned this for €40 but I passed up on it because, at the time, I didn’t own a PS3. We all make mistakes sometimes.
Assassin’s Creed III
What’s in the box?
- A 24-cm figurine of Connor
- George Washington’s notebook revealing all the truth & secrets about the Assassins and the Templar’s during the American Revolution
- A steelbook case featuring art by award-winning comic artist Alex Ross
- Exclusive lithograph
- Single-Player Mission: Lost Mayan Ruins (DLC)
- Single-Player Mission: Ghost of War (DLC)
- Sawtooth Sword (DLC)
- Obwandiyag’s War Club (DLC)
- The Sharpshooter Multiplayer Package: Including 1 new Animi Avatar, The Sharpshooter, 1 Relic, 1 Emblem, 1 special Picture and the Title of “The Jester” (DLC)
Ubisoft is known for their great collector’s edition (and for buggy games on release) and this one is my favorite. The figurine looks great and you get a whole lot of extras with it! I pre-ordered this one for the Xbox 360 but then my Xbox broke and I sold it off to a friend. What a shame.
Call of Duty: Black ops 3
What’s in the box?
- Juggernog Mini-Fridge
- Perk-A-Cola Coaster Set With Custom Tin
- Season Pass
- Limited Edition Specialist Concept Art Cards
- The Giant Zombies Bonus Map
- Collectible Steelbook™
- In-Game Bonus Content: Weaponized 115
- In-Game Bonus Content: Cyborg
- Official Call Of Duty: Black Ops III Soundtrack
- In-Game Bonus Content: Black Ops 3 Bonus Pack
This my favorite collector’s edition of all time! The fridge is just super cool and the fact that you get the season pass with it is a great bonus. It was pretty expensive on release (and even more expensive now) but I don’t give up the hope that I’ll find one for a decent price in the wild!
The release trailer of Battlefield 1 is the most liked trailer of all time and that is a good indication of how excited people are for this game. And like every major game release these days, Battlefield 1 will have a collectors edition. Let’s see what’s inside!
This edition will include:
- Cloth Propaganda Poster
- Messenger Pigeon Tube With “DLC” Code Inside
- Steel Case For Game
- 14″ Statue Of Cover Character
- Deck of BF1 Playing Cards
The price for all of this will be around 220 US dollars which I feel is a bit much. The figurine looks good but I don’t feel like it totally justifies the price. The rest of the items are pretty OK (if they are high quality) but I still feel like this is priced just too high. A price around 150 US dollars would have been much better in my opinion. I’m not going to buy this one at its release but when I find one for a decent price (new or used) I might consider buying it.
What do you guys think about this collectors edition? Let me know in the comments!
Test your might! It’s Mortal Kombat time! The Mortal Kombat franchise started way back in 1992 so there are a lot of different games that I could have bought. I decided that this one was a great addition to my collection.
Mortal Kombat X Kollectors Edition (PS4)
This might seem like a pretty weird purchase knowing that Mortal Kombat XL will be released in a couple of weeks. Mortal Kombat XL has all the DLC of Mortal Kombat X and that seems to be a great deal. So why did I pick this one up? Well first of all because it’s a collector’s edition and I love those! Secondly because it was cheap; when it first came out it retailed for about €130 but I only paid €35 for it (new) which is a great deal. The figurine looks great and the game itself is fun to play (even tough I still prefer Injustice).
