Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 77!

My collection of psychical PS4 games keeps on growing and this week I added 2 games to this ever-growing list!

Doom UAC Pack + Mafia 3 (PS4)

Both games were on my wanted list for some time and I just waited for a big price drop. I picked up Doom for €19 and Mafia 3 for €20; not a bad deal. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Doom and looking at some gameplay on Youtube I think it’s going to be right up my alley. Mafia 3 received some mixed reviews  but I still look forward playing it. It might not be as good as Mafia 2 but I’ll (hopefully) get some enjoyment from playing it!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 76!

I only bought one game this week but what a magnificent game it is!

Injustice 2: Deluxe Edition (PS4)

I’ve played the first Injustice game a lot and it was one of my favorite superhero fighting games. Injustice 2 takes everything that made the first game good and made it better; the graphics are improved, the combat system is a bit refined and they’ve added a lot of stuff to customize every character to your liking which gives the game some variety.  The story isn’t as great (in my opinion) as the first one but that has more to do with how awesome the story of the first game was.

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 75!

Weekly pick-ups is back and it returns with a bang! I bought 2 seasons of a DC tv show and a PS4 game.

Gotham Season 1 + 2 (blu-ray)

Season 1 of Gotham wasn’t the best; it had some strong moments but overall it felt pretty ‘meh’. But Jiminy jillikers Batman did they go all out with season 2. Everything was just bigger and better and that trend continued in season 3.

Far Cry 4 (PS4)

Far Cry 4 should have been called Far Cry 3.5 and didn’t really deserve a full €60 price tag on release. The fourth installment didn’t add a lot so that’s why I didn’t pick it up when it was released. I recently saw it for €17 as part of the Ubisoft deals and I decided that this was the right time for me to pick it up.

What’s your favorite DC tv show? Mine’s still Arrow (Season 5 has been really good) but Gotham is close on its tail!

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite Gameplay trailer #2 !

First thoughts: It’s great that we get a Marvel and a DC fighting game in the same year and they both look great. Marvel vs Capcom games have always been great; lots of characters and  gameplay that’s easy to play but hard to master. I really look forward to this and I still have my hopes up that they will do a cool collector’s edition (unlike some other superhero fighting game *couch Injustice 2 * cough). But what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!

Call of Duty: WWII Reveal Trailer!

First thoughts: I’m happy that Call of Duty returns to their roots; I wasn’t a huge fan of the newer installments because of the ‘sci-fi’ setting. The trailer doesn’t really show us much (besides that we are going to relive our Medal of Honor Frontline days with the D-Day mission) but I’m hopeful. I just hope they don’t screw up the multiplayer by adding a bunch of things that don’t belong in a World War 2 shooter.

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 74!

This week we take a trip to Moscow after a nuclear war. Sounds lovely, doesn’t?

Metro Redux (PS4)

I’ve played the first Metro game on PC and I really liked it but I never got around finishing it. Yesterday I saw that it was on sale on PS4 so I decided to buy it. The Redux version includes both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light and they improved both games quiet a bit; better frame rate (60FPS on consoles now), all the DLC; you get the complete package.

What’s your favorite game that’s set in a post apocalyptic world/ nuclear world? Mine’s definitely Stalker; Shadow of Chernobyl.

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 73!

Only one purchase this week and it’s an Indie game! But there are so many Indie games so which one did I buy? Let’s find out!

Cursed Castilla (Maldita Castilla EX) (PC)

I played this games YEARS ago (Maldita Castilla) when it was a free download and I loved it. It reminded me a lot of Ghouls and Ghosts; one of my favorite SNES games.  I recently found out that it was on Steam so when it went on sale I didn’t think twice before picking it up. It’s a great game for anyone who’s nostalgic for the good old SNES days!
