My E3 2017 Top 5 !

A ton of new games have been announced/shown on E3 and I’m going to list my personal favorites. Let’s do this!

1.God Of War : Be A Warrior

We got some gameplay footage of the new God of War game and it looks amazing! I’m already looking forward to kill that giant snake thing we see at the end of the trailer.

2. Spider-Man!

An exclusive Spider-Man game for the PS4 will always interest me especially one that looks as good as this one. The combat reminds me a lot of the Batman Arkham games and that’s a good thing; I really love the timing based combat. A good Spider-Man off course has good web slinging and this game seems to deliver on that front; the web slinging looks fun and solid. The worst part of this game is its release date: 2018. Bummer!

3. Call of Duty WII Multiplayer trailer!

I haven’t been excited for a new COD game since Black Ops but this one put me right back on the hype train. I’m skeptical that the multiplayer will look this good and fluid but we shall see. The trailer didn’t show any exuberant skins on the weapons and I hope that this is also the case for the final game. I don’t want to play a World War 2 shooter with a pink MP40.

4. Skull and Bones

My favorite Assassins Creed game is Black Flag so you can see why I’m excited for this game. I’d love a good online pirate game but it is still Ubisoft so I’m skeptical; how are the servers going to be ? What about the balance ? I’m going to try to get access to the beta to see how the game plays but the trailer does look good.

5. A Way Out

2 brothers breaking out of jail might not sound like the most interesting premise ever but what is interesting is the fact that it is co-op. I love a good co-op game and this might be a very good one!

Honorable mentions:

  • Wolfenstein II The New Colossus
  • Marvel vs Capcom Infinite (the gameplay looks great!)
  • Xbox One X
  • Need for Speed Payback
  • Metro Exodus

Top 5 Collector’s Editions!

In the last ‘weekly pick-ups’ I talked about how much I love collector’s editions and I thought to myself; why not make a top 5 of my favorite collector’s editions off all time? I did some research and made a top 5. Let me know what you think about my top 5 in the comments!

What’s in the box?

  • 6 inch Big Daddy figure
  • Making of DVD and Soundtrack
  • The game in a steelcase

The original Bioshock is one of my favorite fps games of all time. The setting, the story; it’s just great. The collector’s edition of this game was equally great because of the superb Big Daddy statue. People are asking crazy money for this now on eBay/Amazon so if you own this; great investment!

Batman:Arkham Origins

What’s in the box?

  • 30 cm figurine of Batman and The Joker
  • Steelcase
  • Artbook
  • Assassins dossier pack
  • 3 pieces of DLC

I’m a huge Batman fan but I didn’t buy this on release even though I thought that the figure looked incredible.  The price was just a bit too high on release so I waited for it to come down a bit and it took quite some time for the price to drop. I bought this last year for the PS3 for €50 (new) which is an amazing deal! The US version had a different collector’s edition which had a blu-ray and a different figure but I’m still very happy with mine.

Injustice Gods Among Us

What’s in the box?

  • 23 cm figure of Wonder Woman fighting Batman
  • An Injustice comic book
  • Steelcase
  • 3 DLC Skins

The DC trend continues with Injustice; a great fighting game that came out in 2013. The collector’s edition has a really nice looking statue of Wonder Woman fighting Batman. I still kick myself in the head for this one because I could have owned this for €40 but I passed up on it because, at the time, I didn’t own a PS3. We all make mistakes sometimes.

Assassin’s Creed III

What’s in the box?

  • A 24-cm figurine of Connor
  • George Washington’s notebook revealing all the truth & secrets about the Assassins and the Templar’s during the American Revolution
  • A steelbook case featuring art by award-winning comic artist Alex Ross
  • Exclusive lithograph
  • Single-Player Mission: Lost Mayan Ruins (DLC)
  • Single-Player Mission: Ghost of War (DLC)
  • Sawtooth Sword (DLC)
  • Obwandiyag’s War Club (DLC)
  • The Sharpshooter Multiplayer Package: Including 1 new Animi Avatar, The Sharpshooter, 1 Relic, 1 Emblem, 1 special Picture and the Title of “The Jester” (DLC)

Ubisoft is known for their great collector’s edition (and for buggy games on release) and this one is my favorite. The figurine looks great and you get a whole lot of extras with it! I pre-ordered this one for the Xbox 360 but then my Xbox broke and I sold it off to a friend. What a shame.

Call of Duty: Black ops 3

What’s in the box?

  • Juggernog Mini-Fridge
  • Perk-A-Cola Coaster Set With Custom Tin
  • Season Pass
  • Limited Edition Specialist Concept Art Cards
  • The Giant Zombies Bonus Map
  • Collectible Steelbook™
  • In-Game Bonus Content: Weaponized 115
  • In-Game Bonus Content: Cyborg
  • Official Call Of Duty: Black Ops III Soundtrack
  • In-Game Bonus Content: Black Ops 3 Bonus Pack

This my favorite collector’s edition of all time! The fridge is just super cool and the fact that you get the season pass with it is a great bonus.  It was pretty expensive on release (and even more expensive now) but I don’t give up the hope that I’ll find one for a decent price in the wild!

Top 5 Favorite Movies !

I’m a pretty big movie guy. I own around 800 movies on DVD/blu-ray and I enjoy going to the theater to check out the latest blockbuster movie. Over the years I’ve watched some incredible movies and also some really bad ones. This list is going to be centered on that first group. I’m going to give you my personal top 5 movies of all time. Let’s do this!

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Director: Peter Jackson

Notable Actors: Orlando Bloom, Viggo Mortensen, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee, Elijah Wood

The first movie on my list and I’m already cheating by picking a trilogy but for me it’s impossible to pick between these 3. Everything about these movies is just right; the casting is perfect, the scenery is absolutely stunning and the battles are incredible. I do a marathon of this trilogy every year (I highly recommend you watch the extended versions) and I look forward to it each year.

Reservoir Dogs

Director: Quentin Tarantino

Notable Actors: Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Chris Penn, Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi

Quentin Tarantino is a great director and he has made some incredible films (Django Unchained, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill …) but my favorite Tarantino movie is still Reservoir Dogs. The dialogue in this movie is so good that it makes up for the lack of action. The suspense is really well done and the music is just perfect. I’m such a big fan that I have a big poster of the film hanging over my desk (see picture).

The Godfather Part 2

Director: Francis Ford Coppola

Notable Actors: Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall

I know, picking the sequel over the original. I like the original Godfather but I feel like the sequel takes all the good things of the first movie and makes them even better. Al Pacino is brilliant as Michael Corleone.

Dawn of the Dead (1978 version)

Director: George A. Romero

Notable Actors: David Emge, Ken Foree, Gaylen Ross, Scott H. Reiniger

For me Dawn of the Dead is THE definitive zombie movie. It has great characters, a great location (a shopping mall is the perfect location for a movie about a zombie outbreak) and the special effects are really well done. The 2004 remake is also pretty enjoyable but it’s not as good as the original.

Scarface (the 1983 version)

Director: Brian De Palma

Notable Actors: Al Pacino, Steven Bauer, Michelle Pfeiffer, Paul Shenar

Cliché choice maybe but I absolutely love this movie. Everything about is just perfect; the location, the music (I own a physical copy of the soundtrack), the characters; it’s a perfect blend which results in an absolute classic. GTA Vice City is my favorite GTA game because it captures the 80’s vibe so well and that game is partially based on Scarface; so it isn’t big surprise that this movie is my favorite film of all time. Al Pacino IS Tony Montana.

Honorable mentions:

  • The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
  • Friday The 13th (1980)
  • Inglorious Basterds
  • The Dark Knight
  • Schindlers List
  • Pyscho
  • Goodfellas
  • Rear Window

Top 5 Grand Theft Auto games !

The Grand Theft Auto series is one of the most popular gaming series ever. The games have established a huge fan base over the years and I’m one of those fans. But which GTA game is my favorite ?

5) Grand Theft Auto 2 (PS1)

My brother rented this game from our local video store and we both loved it. We never played any missions but we loved causing mayhem in the city. The graphics were pretty good for the time and it was just a very fun game to play. I still remember how happy we were when we found the tank so that we could cause even more mayhem. Great memories.

4) Grand Theft Auto 3 (PS2)

The next GTA game that I’ve ever played was GTA 3. It was a big step up from 2 because of the graphics. Everything felt a little bit more real which caused a lot of controversy when it was released (scared parents and politicians who tried to ban the game). I really enjoyed it mainly because of the open and realistic world. Owh and because of the radio station that played the Scarface soundtrack (Flashback FM).

3) Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (PS2)

I bought it on its release (I had a really hard time finding it because I didn’t pre-order it) and I liked it a lot. My brother on the other hand hated it. I then convinced him to keep playing it and after a while he started to enjoy it. We spent a lot of our free time roaming trough the streets of San Andreas listing to rap music (or country music on K.Rose). This game didn’t leave my PS2 for a couple of months.

2) Grand Theft Auto V (PS3,PS4)

I didn’t have any expectations for this game because I was still disappointed about GTA IV (see below). I picked it up when it dropped in price and I was pleasantly surprised when I played it. The world looked great and was vivid and the main characters were amazing. I loved the story and the way the story was told; it really built up to an epic conclusion. I loved the game so much that I finished it twice in less than a year; a good sign for the quality of a game. Too bad that the GTA Online was/is so buggy and that it took Rockstar so long to include online heists.

1)Grand Theft Auto Vice City (PS2)

My favorite game of all time ! I’m a huge fan of 80’s music, films and series so this game was right up my alley. The story, the characters, the music, … ; everything was just right. When I’m bored I still play it; just doing taxi missions whilst I listen to the excellent music. GTA Vice City was everything I’ve ever wanted in game and then some. What an amazing game!

*GTA IV isn’t in this list because I didn’t really enjoy it. I was super hyped for its release (first GTA game on the ‘new’ consoles) and I bought the collector’s edition on the release. I then played it for about 7-8 hours and then I came to the conclusion that this game wasn’t for me. I didn’t like the way the cars felt and the characters and story didn’t do anything for me.

Top 5 Most Wanted Games !

There aren’t many game releases in the Summer but that isn’t too bad. It gives you a lot of time to consider which games you’re going to buy and which you’re going to ignore. I’m going to give you my top 5 of games that I really want to play and that I’ll probably buy on release.

5) For Honor

It looks like a better version of Chivalry and I really liked that game so I can’t see how they could mess this up. But it is Ubisoft so I’m hoping its more ‘Call of Juarez Gunslinger’ than Assassins Creed Unity.

4) FIFA 16

  • Developer: EA Canada
  • Genre: Sports
  • Platforms:  PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Android, iOS, PC
  • Release: September 22, 2015
  • Official website:

I’ve played a ton of FIFA 15 and I both love it and hate it. I can’t stop playing it but there are so many things wrong with the game. I hope that EA fixes all of those things in FIFA 16 but I doubt they will. I’ll still buy it because I need a football game to play when I’m bored. And I know that PES 2016 looks good but it feels weird (probably because I play a lot of FIFA) so I’m not going to switch immediately. But if FIFA 16 turns out to be a disappointment then I might buy PES later in the year.

3) Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow Six has always been a good series for me. I love the tactical aspect of it; it’s so rewarding when you plan something out and it works perfectly. I haven’t played this game but that’s going to change because I’ve got a beta key! The beta will tell me a lot and will probably be the decider if I buy it or not.

2) Mafia 3

  • Developer: 2K Games
  • Genre: Open world, action
  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
  • Release: 2016
  • Official website:

You can’t believe how excited I was when I saw the trailer for this game. Everything was perfect: the atmosphere, the characters, the music, … . If the full game is half as good as the first trailer then I’m sold.

1) Uncharted 4 : A thieves end

I’ve only played Uncharted 3 (yeah, shame on me) but that game was epic! It really gave you the feeling of a Hollywood blockbuster that you could play for yourself. From what I’ve seen so far this game looks even more epic. This game needs to be superb because Sony needs a strong PS4 exclusive.
