Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 96!

I’m back! I took a couple of weeks of but now I’m back with a bang!

Nintendo 3DS XL Super Nintendo Edition

I wanted a 3DS for a long time but I didn’t really like the colors/special editions. That all changed when I saw this beauty! It looks amazing and I’ve spent a good chunk of my free time playing New Super Mario Bros 2. Which brings me to …

New Super Mario Bros 2, Kirby Triple Deluxe and Zelda Ocarina of Time (3DS)

You need some good games to play on your new console and I got these 3. All Nintendo games and all of them received good reviews (or at least decent reviews). I’ve almost finished New Super Mario Bros 2 and then I’m probably going to play some Zelda.

Kirby Amiibo

There isn’t really a particular reason that I got this. I saw it in the shop, liked the look of it and just got it. Fits in nicely with my Shovel Knight Amiibo.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (PS3)

Yes, I know that you can play the PS2 version on the PS4 but it’s nice to get a physical copy of the game for my PS3. I’ll probably play it a ton around Christmas.

LA Noire and Bioshock Collection (PS4)

LA Noire was (and still is) a brilliant game. Finding clues, figuring out if someone is lying or not; it’s all done so very well. There are still some bugs in the game but that doesn’t really ruin to fun! The original Bioshock is one of my favorite games ever and I wanted to play it again so I got the entire collection. Bioshock 2 is more action packed but still good and Bioshock Ininite is also a great game.

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 95!

The madness continues with another HUGE haul!

Lord of the Rings: Third Age (Xbox)

Last week I got the game for the PS2 but that disc was damaged so it didn’t work. So I went on eBay and found myself a copy of the game for the original Xbox. The game is complete and in very good condition and most importantly; it works.

Call of Duty WWII Limited Edition Crate, Call of Duty WWII Guide and Call of Duty WWII (PS4)

Yes, I’m a fan of the latest title in the Call of Duty franchise. The single player is awesome and the multiplayer, even with the current flaws, is still fun to play. I already did an unboxing for the limited edition crate; you can find the video a bit further down on my blog. And then finally I bought the guide. I’m a sucker for physical  guides and this one is really high quality (hardcover for the win!). I mostly use it for zombies but it still fun to read when I have a couple of minutes to spare.

Need for Speed Payback (PS4)

I can be pretty brief on this one; I haven’t played it yet and the reviews don’t seem all that amazing. I got it because the trailers looked promising and I wanted an ‘easy’ racing game to play when I’m not playing FIFA/Call of Duty. I’ll let you guys know what I think of it when I find some time to play it.

Assassins Creed 3: Join or Die Edition (PS3)

It was cheap and it’s complete; so why not? I’ve played a fair bit of this game but I never managed to complete it. I might give it another go when I find some time for it (which won’t be in the next few weeks).

What’s your favorite Call of Duty game? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 94!

A huge haul this week; I bought a lor of games for 3 different consoles!

Conflict Desert Storm 1 + 2 and Lord of the Rings Third Age (PS2)

I never owned the original Conflict Desert Storm but I did play the first level a lot on a demo that came with the official Playstation magazine. The second one is just an overall improvement and it’s still fun to play. Lord of the Rings Third Age is a bit of a sad story; it’s one of my favorite LOTR games but the disc is damaged so it doesn’t work properly. I bought a new copy (for the original Xbox) and that should be on its way !

Spider-Man Edge of Time + Green Lantern (PS3)

Two solid additions to my ever growing ‘superhero’ gaming collection. I’ve completed the Spider-Man game before and I loved it but I haven’t played the Green Lantern game. I hope it’s better than the movie because that was rubbish.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Collector’s Edition + Assassins Creed Origins Deluxe Edition + Friday The 13th (PS4)

So many games; so little time. I’ve completed the main story of Wolfenstein II and let me tell you; it’s amazing. The story is solid and it has its fair share of ‘WTF’ moments and the gameplay feels smooth. I haven’t gotten around to play Assassins Creed but my co worker absolutely loves it so I’m pretty excited to dive into it. And last but certainly not least; Friday The 13th. What better game to play on Halloween night than a game based on one of the most famous slasher franchises. The game isn’t perfect and has some glaring issues but when you find a good set of players it’s really fun to play.

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 93!

I’ve bought some new South Park stuff and because October is the ‘horror month’ I also got a horror game!

The Evil Within Limited Edition (PS3)

Yes, I know that Evil Within 2 was just released but I never completed the first one so I decided it was best to do that first. I got the Limited Edition because it was the same prize as the normal one. I’ll start my play through on October 31.

Young Justice Legacy (PS3)

The reviews for this game aren’t great but I’m a sucker for anything DC Comics related so I still went out and bought it. Haven’t played it yet but it can’t possibly be that bad… I hope.

South Park The Fractured But Whole 3-inch Figurine Bundle Pack

I know own all the figurines of the new South Park game. Is that something to be proud about? Not really but it does look pretty cool on my shelf so that’s something.

What’s the scariest game you’ve ever played? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 92!

This week it’s all about South Park!

South Park The Fractured But Whole Collector’s Edition (PS4)

I was a big fan of the Stick of Truth so I didn’t think twice about picking this up. The game is really fun (it has a bit of a slow start but after that it’s great) and the extra’s in the collector’s edition are great. The the Coon figurine is well made and nicely detailed (Ubisoft has a thing for making good figurines/statues) and the post cards are a cool little extra. It also comes with a PS4 download code for the Stick of Truth; great for the people who missed the first game!

What games are you excited for this month? Assassins Creed Origins? Super Mario Odyssey? Wolfenstein II ? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 91 !

This week I went to visit an asylum and I bought the highest rated DCEU movie!

Wonder Woman (blu-ray)

Wonder Woman is my favorite DCEU movie for a number of reasons; the action scenes are solid, the dialogue has a good mix between serious and goofy and the build up to the final fight is excellent. There are off course things that I didn’t enjoy (I’m not a huge fan of using so many slow mo shots) but overall it’s a really good movie! Seeing this made me even more excited for the upcoming Justice League film!

Manhunt 2 (PS2)

Working in a game shop has its perks and finding gems like this for cheap is definitely one of them. I paid €7.99 for this game and it’s in very good condition and complete. On eBay (I know that eBay prices are a bit inflated) one sold last week for €28 (and that came with a €12 shipping cost). Being a fan of the Manhunt series (real shame that it never got a third installment) I look forward to play the second one.

What’s your best purchase ever? Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Pick-Ups: Week 90 !

This week I added another PS2 classic to my library and FIFA makes a return!

South Park The Fractured But Whole 6 inch Mysterion figurine

The game hasn’t even been released yet but I’m hyped! Stick of Truth was a ton of fun and I expect that this one will be even better. I already got ‘The Coon’ as an RC toy (I forgot to show that in previous posts) and now I added this Mysterion figurine. It’s nicely detailed and painted but the overal finish could have been nicer.

FIFA 18 (PS4)

I had my doubts about buying FIFA this year but in the end I decided to get it anyway. I’m still pretty bad at the game (I can’t defend to save my life) but I’m having fun with it and that’s what counts !

Medal of Honor Frontline (PS2)

One of my favorite PS2 games of all time and the game that got me hooked on first person shooters. I can’t wait to storm the beaches of Normandy once again !
